02. Why You Don't Feel Like Yourself Anymore

(And Why That Doesn't Mean You're Broken)

Feeling Like You Don’t Recognize Yourself Anymore?

Anyone can feel broken trying to fit into a story they’ve already outgrown.

Have you ever had one of those seasons where everything feels funky?

Your work isn’t working the way it used to.

Your friendships feel harder.

The version of you that used to know exactly what to do suddenly seems to have left the building.

And after a while you start asking the only question that seems to make sense:

“Is it me? Am I the problem?”

    ARCHETYPES EDITION

You know something isn’t working, and you don’t know what. You’re searching for help understanding and hoping there’s a better story than: it’s me. I broke my life.

Most self-help tells you what to do. Archetypes help you understand who’s doing it.

Imagine skipping the 38 books, 16 podcasts, 12 YouTube rabbit holes, and years of trying to stitch together what all of this means on your own.

    show notes:

Feeling Like You Don’t Recognize Yourself Anymore?

Have you ever had one of those seasons where everything feels…off?

Your work isn’t working the way it used to.

    Your friendships feel different.

The version of you that used to know exactly what to do suddenly seems to have left the building.

And after a while you start asking the only question that seems to make sense:

“Is it me? Am I the problem?”

Why We Sometimes Feel Like We’re the Problem

In this episode, I’m sharing a season of my own life when everything seemed to be falling apart at once. My business wasn’t taking off the way I’d imagined, some friendships started feeling uncomfortable, and even being a mom—the role I felt most confident in—suddenly felt…different.

For a while, I genuinely believed I’d broken my life.

But what if that’s not what was happening at all?

What if the parts of us that make life feel harder aren’t trying to ruin us…

What if they’re trying to protect us?

A Different Way to Understand Identity Changes

This conversation is about one of the most powerful lenses I’ve ever experimented with: archetypes. Not as personality labels or something to “get right,” but as a way of stepping back from my life long enough to ask a different question:

Who’s really running the show right now?

    If you’ve been feeling like you’re changing…

If parts of your old life don’t seem to fit anymore…

If you’re somewhere between who you’ve always been and who you’re becoming…

I hope this conversation feels like someone pulling up a chair beside you instead of standing at the front of the room with a whiteboard.

    You Might Recognize Yourself If…

❤️ You’ve quietly decided you’re the common denominator—and therefore the problem.

❤️ You’re trying to make a brand-new chapter of life live up to expectations that took decades to build.

❤️ You feel like different versions of yourself show up in different rooms.

❤️ You’ve caught yourself shrinking around certain people.

❤️ You’re exhausted from trying to figure out what’s “wrong” with you.

❤️ You have this nagging feeling that you’re changing…and you’re not sure whether to be excited or terrified.

What I Hope You Leave With

    Not another thing to fix.

    Not another self-improvement project.

Just a little more compassion for the parts of you that have been working so hard to keep you safe.

    A little more curiosity.

    A little less self-blame.

And maybe a quiet suspicion that you aren’t broken after all.

    Keep the Conversation Going

If something in this conversation stirred a little “oh…that’s me” moment, don’t rush past it.

    Notice it.

    Get curious about it.

See what follows you into the rest of your week.

Sometimes that’s where the real adventure begins.

    Until then…

Be your own dang hero. ❤️
